Some Bills From The Texas House of Representatives At Risk As Legislature Came To An End

A few of the Texas House of Representatives’ priority health care and criminal justice bills had not been changing positions at the Senate. The upper chamber should approve a bill before it could move to Texas Governor Greg Abbot for it to be law. Those were at risk, so Senate bills were in that situation since the House suddenly recessed until May 23, 2021.

A Few Of Texas’s Biggest Counties Loosen COVID-19 Restrictions

In May 2021, the coronavirus-related death count was reducing, hospitalizations were coming down, plus the vaccine was easily available in almost every place in Texas. So, large counties here have started to consider attempting to go back to a state of being normal. As for journalist James Barragán, Harris County belonged to the list of the largest counties that consider the return to normalcy for vaccinated people.

Texas Performs Execution Without Media’s Presence

Barragán felt that there is a Huntsville Item agreement with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice that allows the former to be present at all executions that Texas makes. Anyhow, the journo also felt that the department stated that there was basically a lack of communication or understanding between prison officials and it because it had not performed an execution for so long. It said that that played a part in the absence of coverage of the event in the media.
