Abbot And Patrick Recommend Supreme Court Taking Up Paxton’s Appeal

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and Governor Greg Abbot of Texas are demanding that the state Supreme Court think about the legal push of AG Ken Paxton to throw out a whistleblower suit against him.

James Barragán of the Texas Tribune said that it was fascinating to see Abbot and Patrick talk about the matter. They stated that they would like the court to be engaged in it, consider it and decide on whether the lawsuit has to be proceeded with or thrown out.

Many of Paxton’s aides resigned or were terminated after accusing that he used the attorney general’s office to have political gain. The aides litigated Paxton and said that they were thrown out from the attorney general’s office as they spoke out about the matter. A court in Texas ruled against the attempt of Paxton to get the suit thrown out.

As per Barragán, Patrick and Abbot did not reveal whether or not they are supporting Paxton. They did not make it clear and described it as an administrative issue that concerns the whole state and an executive. The two also recommended a state court dealing with the issue instead of any lower court.
