Election Mess Made Isabel Longoria Resign From Her Harris County Post

Uncounted ballots and delayed election results caused Isabel Longoria to resign from her Elections Administrator post. Since then, Harris County elections observers have been wondering how things went south in the county.

As for the Texas Tribue’s political reporter James Barragán, the move of the county to new a voting machine-based system potentially complicated the results. Barragán also said that the elections office in the county failed to count or misplaced 10,000 postal votes, which made things worse.

Barragán said that it appears that every election result was held, but the situation contributed to Elections Administrator Longoria’s resignation.
