Matthew Dowd Withdraws From Lieutenant Governor Election In Texas

Politics observers recently discussed a federal government lawsuit about redistricting maps in Texas, changes in this state’s Democratic primary election for the lieutenant governor position and more.

When it comes to Texas politics, perhaps the biggest piece of news concerns Matthew Dowd’s recent withdrawal from the election. According to Texas Tribune Political Reporter James Barragán, Dowd had achieved an abrupt political change. As per Barragán, Dowd decided to withdraw from the election since there is a field of more diverse hopefuls for the state lieutenant governor’s position.
