A dangerous human smuggling case reported in San Antonio saw two men indicted, and 53 people dead.
James Barragán of the Texas Tribune labels this incident “the biggest migrant smuggling death situation, I think, in recorded history”, and added that the people who were charged “face potentially life in prison or the death penalty if they are tried and convicted.”
